How has your degree influenced the way you think, approach problems or develop new solutions?

My studies have had a strong influence on the way I think and approach problems. In particular, interacting with different people and stakeholder groups during my studies helped me to adopt different perspectives and to better understand complex situations. I learned to work in a solution oriented manner while always seeking exchange with others.

Which skills or perspectives that you acquired at the University of Liechtenstein help you most today in your professional or personal life?

Through my studies, I have become significantly more opportunity driven. I recognise opportunities more quickly and am willing to explore new paths in order to develop innovative solutions and to implement them with confidence.

Did you establish networks or contacts during your studies that have accompanied you on your path?

Yes, absolutely. During my studies at the University of Liechtenstein, I not only established valuable professional contacts but also formed many close friendships. Together with some of these friends, I later founded and built two companies, a network that continues to accompany and support me to this day.

Most important to me, however, is that at the University of Liechtenstein I met the most valuable person in my life: my wonderful wife Tanja. Without my studies, our paths would most likely never have crossed. For this, I am particularly grateful to the university.

What concrete contributions do you make today in your profession or industry that also have a positive impact on the country?

With our gin company 32Peaks, we have created a brand that represents Liechtenstein in an enjoyable way and brings a smile to the faces of many customers both nationally and internationally. I am particularly pleased to be able to take a product from the region successfully out into the world.

With Jedsy, we have also created more than 50 jobs, a large proportion of them directly here in the region. It is important to me to make a positive contribution to the local economy and to Liechtenstein’s international reputation through innovation and sustainable growth.

To what extent do you see the University of Liechtenstein as a driver of innovation, research or social progress in the country?

I see the University of Liechtenstein primarily as a driver of innovation because it brings together people from different backgrounds and thus creates space for new ideas. From my perspective, the exchange among students and the networks that emerge from it are the true drivers of innovation and progress in the country, including initiatives such as START Vaduz.

What career advice would you like to pass on to our current students?

My most important career tip is this: stand by what you say. For example, if you promise to send something to someone later, then actually do it and not one or two days afterwards. Reliability is an underestimated but extremely important quality.

At the same time, I would like to encourage you to believe in yourselves and in your own ideas. Do not invest too much of your energy solely in the dreams and visions of others, but use it to advance your own projects and goals. Taking responsibility for your own path is worthwhile.
