How has your degree influenced the way you think, approach problems or develop new solutions?
My studies at the university taught me to work in a scientifically sound manner and to analyse complex issues in a structured way. This approach ideally complements my practical experience and helps me to develop well founded and innovative solutions.
Which skills or perspectives that you acquired at the University of Liechtenstein help you most today in your professional or personal life?
I found the insights into sustainable finance and behavioural finance particularly valuable, as well as the deeper understanding of the academic world of finance. These topics broadened my perspective and ideally complemented my practical experience.
Did you establish networks or contacts during your studies that have accompanied you on your path?
Yes, I established interesting contacts that supported me in my professional career. However, my Master programme was largely shaped by the Covid pandemic, which made networking more challenging than under normal circumstances.
What concrete contributions do you make today in your profession or industry that also have a positive impact on the country?
With elevateYOU, an initiative of Unifinanz, I am actively committed to promoting financial literacy within our education system and in society as a whole. This is a matter very close to my heart, as I aim to make the world of finance more accessible to people and to reduce financial inhibitions. Anyone who would like to learn more is welcome to listen to the latest podcast episode by Leonie Gehler, (Die Leaderin), in which I was a guest at the beginning of March.
To what extent do you see the university as a driver of innovation, research or social progress in the country?
I consider it essential for Liechtenstein to maintain its own university and, in particular, to offer academic education opportunities in the field of finance. The university’s excellent reputation beyond national borders underlines its contribution to innovation and social progress.
What career advice would you like to pass on to our current students?
Stay curious, think outside the box and take every opportunity to absorb knowledge like a sponge.
