Responsibility means acting consciously toward people, the environment and future generations. As a Topic in Focus, responsibility is deeply embedded at the University of Liechtenstein. It shapes not only the content of research and teaching, but also the university’s dialogue with society. Responsibility is not an abstract concept, but a lived attitude in both academic work and everyday practice.

Responsibility in Research and Knowledge Transfer
Responsibility forms the foundation of numerous research priorities from sustainable development and questions of business ethics to responsible digital transformation. The university fosters innovative approaches to address current and future challenges with foresight and integrity.
Interdisciplinary teams develop solutions that meet social, ecological and economic demands both in the regional context of the Alpine Rhine Valley and on a global scale. In this way, research becomes responsible and impactful.
For me, responsibility is a core principle in the education of architecture students and in our research. I encourage students to reflect on the ecological, social and societal impacts of their projects. It is especially important to me that they develop their own projects — ones that address real needs and create tangible societal impact, often beyond commercial interests."
