The Lake Constance Arts & Sciences Association organises and supports cooperation among higher education institutions in the Lake Constance four-country region. International top universities, universities of applied sciences, universities of teacher education as well as art and music academies collaborate under its umbrella across types of institutions and national borders. Together with experts from practice, the association aims to develop, test and implement solutions for the current and future challenges of the four-country region. As of 1 January 2023, the Lake Constance Arts & Sciences Association EVTZmbH, as a European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation, has succeeded the International Lake Constance University. The association is based at the University of Konstanz.

IAESTE (International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience) was founded in 1948 on the principle of international understanding. Today, it includes 60 member countries. IAESTE arranges multi-month internships abroad for students from various disciplines worldwide. The University of Liechtenstein is integrated into this global exchange network and is an associate member of IAESTE Switzerland. The contact point at the University is the International Office.

EUCEN is a network, established in 1991, of around 190 universities in 39 countries engaged in the field of university-level professional education. Its main objectives include promoting the initiative of lifelong learning and developing universities into centres of professional education. The University of Liechtenstein has been part of the EUCEN network since 1995.

NUSCT is a network of universities in small countries and territories. Its aim is to promote benchmarking in areas of common interest, such as governance models, partnerships between education/research and the private sector, and fundraising. The network also serves as a platform for sharing information on best practices in funding models and internationalisation efforts. Furthermore, it provides a forum for discussion on topics such as performance enhancement and how member institutions respond to evolving societal expectations, demands for new professional skills and the introduction of new technologies.

The Network of Universities of Small Countries and Territories arose from a shared need to address issues specific to higher education institutions operating in the socio-political and economic contexts of small countries and territories, which are often marginally addressed by existing international university associations.

Special study certificates can be obtained free of charge at the reception. Architecture students are kindly asked to contact the Architecture Team directly regarding this matter.

Books and other learning materials are not ordered through the reception.

These must be ordered or organised by the students themselves or through the lecturers.

Any necessary equipment (projector, notebook, etc.) and/or additional rooms must be reserved in advance and in writing with the responsible person in Student Services.

It is embedded in the The University of Liechtenstein Act (LUG), the Ownershipstrategy, the university’s Vision and Mission, the performance agreement between the Government and the University, as well as in the target agreements of the Rectorate and the academic institutes.

The University of Liechtenstein complies with the quality standards set forth in the Liechtenstein Higher Education Ordinance and adheres to the standards defined by the Swiss Higher Education Funding and Coordination Act (HFKG). As a university located in Liechtenstein, compliance with the Liechtenstein Higher Education Ordinance is legally binding. For eligibility under the Swiss Intercantonal University Agreement (IUV, 2019), the university also demonstrates conformity with the quality standards of the HFKG.

New programmes are accredited by an external agency; existing programmes are subject to regular internal evaluation.
